The Pump Present... Anna Howie + Thieves

The Village Pump · Trowbridge

The Pump Present... Trowbridge has a recent plethora of Americana acts, with incredible quality coming through in the shape of Concrete Prairie, Courting Ghosts or both Matt Owens & Hannah White moving in on our doorstep!! Keeping this exhilarating run of form going, we have THIEVES shaping up to be something really special. Thieves are in effect The Pump House Band. They practice here every Wednesday, so they feel at home on our stage and in front of YOU. Anna Howie, despite being a veteran of the UK circuit. With 25 years under her belt as sessionist, singer, songwriter and performer, there's not a lot that Anna hasn't achieved. She's toured Europe and the world. She's recorded BBC sessions with Brian May(!) and more besides. This will be a fantastic night for anyone who vibes the American songbook. 7.30pm - Doors 8pm - Thieves 9pm - Anna Howie Band

Thieves

Schtumm · Corsham

An evening of original acoustic Americana featuring popular quartet Thieves with special guest Richard Onyett. We tell bad jokes. We pull stupid faces. We take the piss out of each other. A lot. And we play songs. Some of them are rip-roaring up-tempo bluegrass numbers telling tales of drunkenness, poor decisions and love. Others are lilting country ballads full of heartache, retrospection and (occasionally) contentment. All of them come from the heart. Even the one about a van. We are four musicians, eleven instruments, one microphone and a bucket full of acoustic country goodness. Come look in our bucket some time… Doors: 7:30pm Support: 8:00pm Headline: 9:00pm
