El Rincon, Bristol

About this event

AND MILES TO GO is on Thursday 29 October 2026 at El Rincon, Bristol, with doors at 18:00. Tickets start at £16.50, including the booking fee.

A very especial one-off quartet in honour of what would have been Miles Davis’s 100th birthday year, with El Rincon’s very own ‘Pedro Promotions’ aka Pete Judge on trumpet duties, his Get The Blessing compadres Jake McMurchie & Jim Barr on tenor saxophone & double-bass respectively, plus The Invisible Apples’ mighty Jon Baggott on keyboards. Expect tunes from across Miles’s extraordinary decades of creativity, including a little sprinkling of appropriately Spanish flavourings.

BAGGOTT SMITH & JONES

El Rincon · Bristol

To call this trio a ‘supergroup’ is serious understatement! Mighty keyboardist Jon Baggott is joined by two members of El Rinc regulars Slate Trio: maverick guitar legend Neil Smith and dazzingly brilliant drummer Matt Jones. Between them, their musical CV encompasses Portishead, Massive Attack, Robert Plant, This Is The Kit, The Brackish, Zun Zun Egui, The Liftmen, The Invisible Apples, Free Four, and many others. Expect a choice mix of jazz and groove standards, plus some original compositions, and just general top-class musicianship. As El Jefe would say: “Mint”.

DE ANIMA

El Rincon · Bristol

Brand new trio about which we are very excited. Bristol-based De Anima play “prog-& jazz-inflected ‘alt rock’, singing stories that explore intimate interactions, real life events and politics, often sourcing lyrics verbatim from unusual places” - but that description doesn’t really do justice to their beautifully unusual sound and harmony-laden vocals. They are guitarist/singer Jojo Holmes, drummer Matt Jones (see Nov 12th!), and bassist/singer Jen Bell. Check out their videos at www.de-anima.uk and then snap up your tickets!

KEITH WARMINGTON & GRAHAM NICHOLLS

El Rincon · Bristol

What a storming return to live music at your favourite little bar in prospect here! This is a masterful collaboration between two stalwarts of the Bristol music scene: Keith Warmington (local legend, guitarist, harmonica-player, singer, Radio Bristol presenter, and all-round polymath) is joined by Graham Nicholls, a guitarist of jaw-dropping ability. Expect originals, blues and Americana, delivered with panache, wit and authority. Don’t miss.
