About this event

Braw Gigs Presents: An Evening with Tony Morris is on Saturday 20 March 2027 at Pianodrome Brunstfield, Edinburgh, with doors at 19:30. Tickets start at £14.90, including the booking fee.

Braw Gigs presents a very special evening with Tony Morris in Pianodrome, Bruntsfield on Saturday 20th March. A performance in the round from one of Glasgow’s finest men of leisure and wordplay, inside one of Edinburgh’s most unique looking and sounding venues. Morris’s act has been described as ‘deviant cabaret’, a description he is happy to accept. The past 18 months have been pretty busy with record releases on Optimo and Huntleys and Palmers, the latter with Isa Gordon. His unique vocal stylings have appeared on releases by Gramrcy & John Loveless; Josh Wink & Christopher Coe; and more recently COMB. Along with Isa Gordon and sometimes on his own, he has played venues all across Scotland and recently Berghain in Berlin. In September he was commissioned by Radiophrenia to do a Live-to-air performance in Glasgow, in addition he presents a regular monthly show on Clydebuilt Radio, plus a brand new release with Organza Ray with the collaborative track MAVRA VALISTA. Support will come from Bell Lungs, the moniker of Scottish-Turkish vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and creative facilitator Ceylan Hay. Taking a freewheeling, magpie attitude to ambient, noise, free...

Braw Gigs Presents: An Evening with Richard Youngs

Pianodrome Brunstfield · Edinburgh

Braw Gigs is over the moon to announce “An Evening with Richard Youngs” in Edinburgh on 23rd January. He will be performing two sets with an intermission at the Pianodrome in Bruntsfield. The show will be in the round utilising the natural sound and reverberation in the hall. It goes without saying that Richard is probably one of the most enigmatic and fascinating underground musicians of the last 30 years, having cut his teeth initially in the Cambridge experimental scene in the early 90s before moving to Glasgow full time. He’s collaborated with the likes of Jandek, Damon & Naomi, Neil Campbell, the A-Band and countless others. You may have also seen him singing and playing keys in Glasgow supergroup AMOR with the likes of Michael Francis-Duch, Luke Fowler and Paul Thomson. Our very first evening with Richard was way back in September 2011 in the Canon’s Gait Pub - so it’s only taken us 16 years to do another one. Here’s a rare chance to catch Richard performing two unique sets on a wintery Saturday night in the Capital, it'll be well worth the wait.
