Taking Prog To The People

Ivory Blacks · Glasgow

Long Earth need no introduction to the West of Scotland's prog fans & with their new album 'Towards The Sky' due to be released well before this date, you can be sure there will be plenty new songs to go with the old favourites & their celebrated atmospheric performances. Hailed by Prog Radio for "intricate arrangements," they blend "beautiful, soaring guitars" with "intelligent, thought-provoking lyrics" tackling 21st-century realities. Featuring the "ethereal" vocals of Maaike Siegerist, this veteran Scottish quintet is ready to take its place on the "pomp-prog pedestal." Freedom To Glide create cinematic progressive rock that blends atmospheric guitars, rich keyboards, and emotionally powerful storytelling. Their music combines modern production with classic prog ambition, delivering immersive concept-driven soundscapes that explore memory, conflict, and hope — music that unfolds, resonates, and stays with the listener long after the final note. With bass playing prog legend John Jowitt (IQ, Frost*, Arena, Jadis) & Andy Nixon (Badfinger) in a live line up that also includes Rob Grucutt (Tim Bowness, Rain) you know they will serve up a spellbinding show.
