Amy McCarley

Green Note · London

Alabama singer-songwriter and former NASA contractor Amy McCarley writes finely crafted, emotionally direct songs that move between Americana, roots rock and country. McCarley has released three albums, including Jet Engines and MECO, working with acclaimed Nashville musicians and producers Kenny Vaughan and George Bradfute. Her forthcoming album, TLI (Trans Lunar Injection), launches an ambitious new series of records inspired by the language and trajectory of spaceflight. Co-produced by McCarley, Vaughan and Bradfute, TLI explores change, resilience, connection and finding a new trajectory when the old one no longer fits, pairing her distinctive Southern voice with sharp, unvarnished songwriting and a warm, guitar-driven sound. At The Green Note, McCarley will be joined by Joe Wilkins on electric guitar, bringing these songs to an intimate setting built around voice, guitar, stories, and the lyric at the center of it all.

Livermead House Hotel · Torquay

Lead singer for Manfred Mann, leader of The Blues Band, star of stage and screen and presenter of the BBC Radio 2 Blues programme for thirty plus years; Paul Jones has been a household name since the 1960s. He is the voice of worldwide hits 'Do Wah Diddy Diddy', '5-4-3-2-1' and 'Pretty Flamingo and maintains a busy touring schedule as part of The Manfreds. Ruggedly durable and timeless, the Blues is perhaps more popular today than it has ever been. Young musicians still cut their teeth on its enticing, 12-bar appeal, but its real rewards, true virtuosity, poise and knowledge, only come with age. Founder member of The Blues Band, Paul Jones’ tangled and colourful roots go way back into the true undergrowth of the tradition. What Paul Jones doesn't know about the Blues can be written on a pinhead. Paul Jones was awarded Harmonica Player Of The Year in 2010, 2011 and 2012 at the British Blues Awards., earning him a place the Hall of Fame. Joined by the all-band of Derek Nash; featured saxophone soloist in the Jools Holland Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, Paul presents an evening of rhythm and blues classics as well as some gems from the Manfred Mann and Blues Band back catalogues as well...
