About this event

Dara Dubh (Pronounced da-ra doo) is an Irish indie–folk–rock artist whose songs sit somewhere between heartfelt confession and a good kick up the road. A singer-songwriter and harpist with a habit of blending the delicate with the downright fierce, she brings a sharp emotional edge to a sound shaped by folk roots, alternative influences, and whatever else has been rattling around her head that week. With the harp as her trusted companion, Dubh challenges the idea of an instrument often associated with traditional music. The harp has found new life in Dara’s hands as she pushes the boundaries of its capabilities, and a voice that can shift from whisper-soft to unapologetically powerful without warning. A SAMA Best Newcomer nominee, JBL & Martin Garrix Music Academy top 10 UK artists and one of The List’s Hot 100 (No. 57), Dara has taken her live show across the UK and Italy, collecting a run of sold-out nights in Scotland, Ireland, and Italy along the way. Her 2024 EP opened the door to a wider audience, followed by a collaborative EP in 2025 that pushed her sound into new territory. She’s currently working away - quietly but determinedly—on her debut album, set for 2026...

Luke Jackson

Kitchen Garden Cafe · Birmingham

"Blessed with one of those soulful, heaven-sent voices that soars with emotion or plunges into brooding intensity" (The Musician Magazine). It’s impossible to not be totally amazed by Luke Jackson, the way he commands such a presence up there on the stage. It may well just be one man and his guitar but the exuberance with which he plays and sings opens the listener’s mind up wide. When his voice is belting out a song it’s like the force of a hundred folk, all concentrated through his captivating solo vocal. Right from the off he shows he means business. The power packed behind his voice grabs your complete attention as soon as it begins. "He is one of the most distinctive voices, both literally and figuratively, on the contemporary folk scene" (Folk Radio UK). So you’ve had a terrible day and think your mind may not be in the right place to relax and enjoy a night of live music? Wrong! There’s no chance of that with Luke on the case. Whatever troubles you might have had are smashed to smithereens. The throttle is opened fully and even early on he cements in your mind the cast iron certainty you’ll be leaving the place having been well and truly awed. Put simply, Luke Ja...

Rob Heron & Conrad Bird

Kitchen Garden Cafe · Birmingham

Rob Heron has been touring the world with his band The Tea Pad Orchestra for the past 15 years, throwing flavours of classic country, gypsy-swing, rhythm & blues, and rockabilly into his original songs. Originally from the Lake District, but based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, he is well-known for his live performances, and dry humour on stage. He and his band have toured with big-name Americana outfits such as Pokey LaFarge, The Dead South, and Sierra Ferrell. 2026 sees Rob recording his first ‘solo’ record since 2008, delving deeper into that lonesome country sound, yodelling cowboy songs, and more intimate song-writing. Conrad Bird is a rambling rover from North Yorkshire, and after over a decade of fronting the very popular festival act, Holy Moly & The Crackers, he is finally taking it back to the roots, with a brand-new solo EP of poetic folk songs, and Dylan-inspired balladeering. His gravelly voice and his on-stage story-telling result in a very charming stage show. Together, the Cumbrian cowboy, and the Yorkshire rover are heading off on a country-wide tour, both promoting their new solo releases, and briefly taking a step back from the wild rock & roll circus!

The unique and intriguing sound of Dom Glynn & His Sunday Best.” (Holler).
