DRIVEN SERIOUS Driven Serious is without a doubt one of the most engaging, energetic, original live folk-rock bands around in the UK today. Driven Serious new album: "Look On These Works is an incredibly engaging listen, whether it’s the monumental sounding strings that carry us through this adventure, or the war-like drums at the start of the title track, it’s an impressive experience." - Narc Driven Serious performance: " I suppose you could file Driven Serious under the banner of folk-rock; but they are so much more than that. They have a vibrancy that you can virtually see thrumming off them when they play, passionate and with the hand-brake well and truly off, and with a vibe that has had people likening them to The Levellers to The Pogues to The Smiths to The Wonderstuff" – The Crack CAPTAIN OF THE LOST WAVES ‘The captain was born to be an entertainer, perhaps even a prophet, watching his show is a life altering experience, there are no words in the English language to describe him’ The Huffington Post ‘Sometimes something comes along that is so completely extraordinary that you just go yep, the Captain is a superstar, truly cinemascopic and epic’ Tom Robinson B...

HDIF Children's Disco Halloween Party

The Phoenix Club · London

Date change! This is now happening on Halloween itself - Saturday October 31st! A Halloween edition of our all-ages daytime disco! Come and dance to indie pop, northern soul, and Motown, with some spooky gems and graveyard smashes thrown in for good measure. And, of course, if you feel like dressing up, then please do! Come and rattle your bones to "There's A Ghost In My House". "Monster Mash", and lots lots more! We've held the HDIF Children's disco at the End Of The Road festival since 2011, and they've been lots and lots of fun. We play our usual mixture of indie pop and soul, and the discos are a wonderful opportunity for kids to bop around to Belle & Sebastian, Allo Darlin', Ramones, Pixies and more, and for their parents to bop along with them. It can often be hard to get out to club nights once you become a parent, so these discos are as much a chance for the parents to go out dancing as they are for the kids. We also want to provide an alternative to the many rave-themed kids discos that are on offer in London. If you'd rather dance to your favourite indie pop and Motown songs with your children, then we're the disco for you! Music will be played at a reasonable level. We'l...

Saturday RnB Lunch | The RnB Collective

Boisdale of Canary Wharf · London

Lunch reservations from 12pm | Live music from 1pm to 3pm | DJ from 12pm to 4pm By the time The R&B Collective takes the stage, the room is already warmed up. The DJ starts from midday, lunch is on the table and the soundtrack is pure 90s and 00s R&B. After a run of sold-out evening shows, the five-piece band returns to Boisdale with the songs people still know every word to. Expect smooth vocals, rich harmonies, deep basslines and soulful horn lines, with classics inspired by TLC, Usher, Blackstreet, Donell Jones and Ne-Yo. The set moves from slow jams to singalong hooks and dancefloor favourites, bringing the feel of the era into a live setting without overworking it. It is polished, warm and full of those “I forgot how good this song is” moments. A resident DJ keeps things moving from 12pm to 4pm, with classic R&B and soulful throwbacks before and after the live set. Served alongside Boisdale’s three-course lunch, this is a Saturday made for birthdays, catch-ups, celebrations and groups that want good food with a proper soundtrack. The first-floor bar and outdoor terrace are open for post-show drinks until late, subject to availability. BOISDALE OF CANARY WHARF Best Spirit...
