HAWXX

The Star Inn · Guildford

HAWXX are a ferocious London‑based alt‑metal band channelling razor‑sharp riffs, soaring vocal harmonies and unapologetically feminist fire. Blending metal, hard rock and dark melodic hooks, they write about autonomy, rage, survival and the politics of being a woman in a world that keeps trying to shrink you. Their live shows are a full‑body experience — heavy, theatrical, and defiantly empowering — earning them slots at Bloodstock, Download, Arctangent, and praise across the UK heavy scene. With precision musicianship and a message that hits as hard as their sound, HAWXX are one of the most vital and uncompromising bands in modern metal. Their second album ‘The World Splits Open’ is out now. This record weaves alternative metal, punk, and traditional Greek music from Annouli’s heritage. Based in London, HAWXX are Annouli on lead vocals/ guitar, Hannah on guitar/ bvs and Jess on drums / bvs. Their debut album ‘Earth, Spit, Blood and Bones’ was nominated for album of the year by Metalhammer and Kerrang describe them as ‘playing like they want to start a revolution’. This is a standing gig - there will be chairs available for anyone with mobility is...

Woking Calling Live in Guildford

The Star Inn · Guildford

Woking Calling - celebrating the music of The Jam and the Clash Made up musicians who've played for, among others, Chelsea, Chords UK, Past Tense, Superminx 70 and having seen both bands live many times, we play with a passion and care, that we hope you'll appreciate. We are not a tribute to either, but most definitely a lover of both, playing 4 songs from each band in a chronological order, with the classics held back to the end. This allows us to play some of the favourite album tracks, alongside the singles. Think Mr Clean and Safe European home, then Little Boy Soldiers and Career Opportunities, leaving the hits to the end of the 2nd set. We hope to see you at this amazing venue. Cheers TA! "Woking Calling are an amazing live band, rest assured you’re in for a fantastic evening of great music" Tony Gleed, Dublin Castle "Best band around in this Genre in my humble opinion and I've been at it over 50 years!" Rob Clamp & the Ashmen

The Star Inn · Guildford

Rob Clamp & The Ashmen are a high‑energy folk/Americana outfit from the South Coast, turning raw storytelling into big, full‑band, festival‑ready moments. Fronted by award‑winning singer‑songwriter Rob Clamp, the band blends driving rhythms, soaring violin, mandolin, banjo, piano, and rich vocal harmonies to create a sound that moves effortlessly between intimate folk and electrified, foot‑stomping crescendos. Built around the multi‑instrumental talents of Sam Weeks (drums/banjo), Ben Reid (piano/mandolin/guitar), Ed Bentley (bass) and Dave Elliott (violin/harmonica), The Ashmen bring depth, colour, and a wild, rootsy energy to Rob’s narrative‑driven songs. Their live shows have become known for their dynamic range — from pin‑drop acoustic moments to full‑throttle, loud‑folk finales that feel tailor‑made for festival stages. Following the release of Rob’s acclaimed debut album Lost Soul (2024), the band have been building a reputation across the UK and Europe for their powerful performances, tight musicianship, and the unmistakable chemistry that comes from a group who genuinely love playing together.

Joachim Cooder

The Star Inn · Guildford

There is a somewhat quiet giant making their way around America, Europe, and a few other territories that isn’t always noticed, but when he’s there, there is no way to ever overlook his music. Joachim Cooder is one-of-a-kind. That is all there is to it. He plays a variety of instruments, writes songs that seem to come from a slightly different universe and is unforgettable once seen and heard. Cooder has a handful of recordings now, and every one is absolutely unforgettable. Which isn’t hard to understand once it’s clear what kind of musical discoveries he’s had in his life, and one he continues to chase with the kind of energy of a champion athlete. One of Cooder’s true calling cards is how his music is able to float in air. He is not tied to the tyranny of a snare drum or any one instrument. What the man is able to do is a blend of percussion, strings, vocals, and other wonders without names into a breathing animal all its own. This really is popular music for people beyond popularity. People that live in a time of their own. Joachim Cooder grew up surrounded by music alongside his father, legendary guitarist Ry Cooder who took him on the road at an early age on the d...

G2 DEFINITIVE GENESIS

The Wharf · Tavistock

G2 are currently celebrating their 26th year of playing classic 1970s Genesis. G2 pay tribute to a vintage period in Genesis’ long and colourful history, the four-man “Seconds Out” era, and earlier Gabriel years. With a repertoire extending from the 1970 Trespass album to 1980's Duke, G2 faithfully recreate some of the finest progressive rock ever written. Following last year’s successful double header at The Wharf, G2 will again be performing two consecutive shows with different setlists. The Friday show will be a recreation of Genesis’ ‘A Trick Of The Tail’ tour, as performed on their historic five night run at Hammersmith Odeon from 9th to 13th June 1976. The Saturday show will be ‘Our Favourite "Sweets" Suites’ - the band’s choice of suites, medleys and segues from 1970 - 1980, complete with a ‘Chocolate Surprise’ to end the evening! Accolades posted online from recent shows include: “Best Performance by ANY Trib Band (not just Genesis ones either) I have ever seen...” “Thanks to all the guys from G2 who were out of this world, I really cannot describe how terrifyingly good you guys are.” Hear late ‘70s classics such as Dance On A Volcano, Ripp...

Briana Corrigan

United Reformed Church · Oxted

With a voice that “could melt icebergs at 50 paces” (VOX), Briana Corrigan of The Beautiful South has returned to the stage after a 10-year hiatus with five hugely successful and largely sold-out tours throughout the UK and Ireland already completed, a new album in the pipeline and a series of brand new gigs lined up for the rest of 2026. Belfast born Corrigan is best known for delivering Beautiful South’s most successful single, the chart topping, #1, Brit- Award winning ‘A Little Time’ where her unique vocal -“one of the most distinctive voices in pop” (Time Out)- and Paul Heaton’s brilliantly acerbic lyrics and catchy melody combined to create an unforgettable anthem to broken love. As a songwriter in her own right, Corrigan has released two critically acclaimed solo albums, enjoying accolades from the likes of Q magazine, “her forte.... chest hugging, breast beating balladry of the highest calibre”; “A revelation!” (Melody Maker); “a songwriter of wit and elegance” (Hot Press), “It’s like listening to someone sing you a story. The rain outside is drifting along the glass and this is a good soundtrack to the tale of its falling” (Melody Maker)....

Dan O’Farrell & the Difference Engine

Water Rats · London

Dan O’Farrell & the Difference Engine - former Accrington Stanley frontman Dan now fronts this marvellous alt-folk/country/indie combo from Southampton who have just released their fourth album - 'The Fish That Learned To Drown' on Gare Du Nord Records, which has had some glowing reviews and is picking up some BBC 6music radio spins. Oh, and Well, All Right!... a certain well known consumer rights TV presenter also performs in this band. Pedal steel guitar is always a joy to see/hear, and is just one of the tools of their trade...it's not Esther Rantzen by the way. (Sorry this was originally written before the woman obsessed with root vegetables that look a bit like willies sadly passed) Sadly Lovely Lightning have had to depart the bill due to ill health. We wish the ailing bassist well. But fear ye not, Matt Allright’s OTHER band, the aptly handled Band Of Hope have stepped up to kick the evening off. The Targets - bluesy grooves and punky pop songs, for fans of the Feelgoods and the Hot Rods.
