Field System and special guests return to haunt Things Happen Here in Dartington for the darkest time of the year. Join us for All Hallows’ Eve revels with music from The Meadow Verse and RamEagle, plus a DJ set by Crowmancrow and dancing with Lucy Wright...Dead good. Lucy Wright dances the sun down for the year, join her Dusking circle The Meadow Verse / Metaverse ritual with 17th-century Devon charms and rites. DJ Acid Reflux (aka @21stcenturyyokel aka Tom Cox) will straddle the divide where psychedelic funk meets funk psychedelia, with intermittent bouts of witchiness, while putting a gentle and well-meaning murrain on your cattle RamEagle play a live set from Radio Aux, bringing psychedelic rock and roll to Planet Earth. Crowmancrow serves up a devilish brew of spooky psych, reggae, goth, folk-punk, and more. Fancy Dress or Dress Fancy...PRIZES for the best get-ups! A bit more about our venue... We are very excited to be returning to Things Happen Here. On the outskirts of Totnes, it offers 18 curated craft beers on draft, and delicious food. There is lots of indoor and outdoor seating (unlike the Field System gallery!) and a disabled toilet, though please note the bar is acc...

HDIF Children's Disco Halloween Party

The Phoenix Club · London

Date change! This is now happening on Halloween itself - Saturday October 31st! A Halloween edition of our all-ages daytime disco! Come and dance to indie pop, northern soul, and Motown, with some spooky gems and graveyard smashes thrown in for good measure. And, of course, if you feel like dressing up, then please do! Come and rattle your bones to "There's A Ghost In My House". "Monster Mash", and lots lots more! We've held the HDIF Children's disco at the End Of The Road festival since 2011, and they've been lots and lots of fun. We play our usual mixture of indie pop and soul, and the discos are a wonderful opportunity for kids to bop around to Belle & Sebastian, Allo Darlin', Ramones, Pixies and more, and for their parents to bop along with them. It can often be hard to get out to club nights once you become a parent, so these discos are as much a chance for the parents to go out dancing as they are for the kids. We also want to provide an alternative to the many rave-themed kids discos that are on offer in London. If you'd rather dance to your favourite indie pop and Motown songs with your children, then we're the disco for you! Music will be played at a reasonable level. We'l...

Saturday RnB Lunch | The RnB Collective

Boisdale of Canary Wharf · London

Lunch reservations from 12pm | Live music from 1pm to 3pm | DJ from 12pm to 4pm By the time The R&B Collective takes the stage, the room is already warmed up. The DJ starts from midday, lunch is on the table and the soundtrack is pure 90s and 00s R&B. After a run of sold-out evening shows, the five-piece band returns to Boisdale with the songs people still know every word to. Expect smooth vocals, rich harmonies, deep basslines and soulful horn lines, with classics inspired by TLC, Usher, Blackstreet, Donell Jones and Ne-Yo. The set moves from slow jams to singalong hooks and dancefloor favourites, bringing the feel of the era into a live setting without overworking it. It is polished, warm and full of those “I forgot how good this song is” moments. A resident DJ keeps things moving from 12pm to 4pm, with classic R&B and soulful throwbacks before and after the live set. Served alongside Boisdale’s three-course lunch, this is a Saturday made for birthdays, catch-ups, celebrations and groups that want good food with a proper soundtrack. The first-floor bar and outdoor terrace are open for post-show drinks until late, subject to availability. BOISDALE OF CANARY WHARF Best Spirit...
