Gary Stewart is a singer/songwriter from Perth in Scotland who cut his teeth performing on the Leeds music scene, before moving to York where he currently resides. Stewart writes songs in the Folk/Pop style and is influenced primarily by the prominent singer/songwriters of the 1960's and 1970's, with Paul Simon as his biggest inspiration. The Scottish Songsmith has released four Albums to date, with his latest offering, 'Use It Or Lose It', released in October this year. The Album was recorded in a little barn studio in The Yorkshire Dales and features collaborations with Seth Lakeman, David Ford, Alex Hart, Ellie Gowers, The Magpies and Graham Coe (Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys). The left-hander is also no stranger to the Festival circuit, having played Kendal Calling, Green Man, Deershed and Beardy Folk Festivals to name but a few. When not performing and recording his own music, the multi-instrumentalist busies himself playing bass for Leeds-based Fleetwood Mac Tribute, Weetwood Mac (ex-Ellen & The Escapades) and fronts his own reworking of Paul Simon's Classic Album, 'Graceland', with a seven-piece band who have played many a Theatre and Festival, including Shrewsbury, Towersey, Co...

This is Lorelei
Brudenell Social Club · Leeds
The last few years have been transformative for Nate Amos. Between delivering breakout records both as a solo artist — under his This Is Lorelei moniker — and with his band Water From Your Eyes, sold out shows across multiple continents, to seeing some of today’s most influential artists cover his songs, the ascending songwriter has found his stride. 2024’s Box for Buddy, Box for Star was Amos’ first attempt at an intentionally written full-length solo album, tackling newfound sobriety through a roving tongue-in-cheek take on musical personas, all strained through Amos’ genre-agnostic lens. It was a critical and word-of-mouth success, spawning a deluxe version with covers and collaborations including MJ Lenderman, Hayley Williams, Jeff Tweedy, Cameron Winter and many more. For many years, Amos’ This Is Lorelei project was known only to a close knit group of creatives in Chicago, where he relocated in his early 20s and produced hundreds of albums and EP’s, tracing the outlines for both of his prolific projects before relocating to New York. In the time since, he’s flourished as a wildly creative polymath who is equally adept at slinging heart worn hooks and eyeball...

The Vaselines
Brudenell Social Club · Leeds
Happy 40th Anniversary to The Vaselines! "Wait a minute, didn't The Vaselines break up years ago?" Yes,The Vaselines did break up in 1989 in the week that their debut album 'Dum Dum' was released. "So they're getting back together again?" No, the Vaselines reformed in 2008 and went onto release two more albums, 'Sex With an X' on Sub Pop in 2009 and 'V For Vaselines' on their own label Rosary Music in 2014. "Are they any good?" OK, let me tell you everything! The Vaselines were formed in Glasgow in 1987 by singers/guitarists Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee, soon signing to The Pastels frontman Stephen Pastel's 53rd & 3rd label. They released two 12 inch singles 'Son of a Gun' and 'Dying For it' and one album 'Dum Dum'. Nirvana's Kurt Cobain regularly cited the Vaselines in interviews with the music press and Nirvana would go on to cover the Vaselines' ‘Molly's Lips’ and ‘Son of a Gun’ (both later compiled on their Incesticide collection) as well as perform ‘Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam’ on their legendary MTV Unplugged appearance which went on to introduce the band to a new world wide audience. Though they were not widely known outside the United Kingdom during th...
