The Linda Moylan Band

Mycenae House · London

Experience the spellbinding narrative power of Irish-born, London-raised folk singer-songwriter Linda Moylan. Blessed with a vocal range that can spiral from earthy to angelic in an instant, Linda delivers moving, deeply relatable narratives with an enchanting Irish troubadour twist. Joined by her small but perfectly formed band—Ian Montague on guitar and Rebecca Mileham on violin—she creates an incredibly warm, intimate atmosphere where the audience quickly becomes a group of friends round for a chat. Come and experience a performer rightly celebrated as “the lady with the voice.” Press Quotes: “Linda Moylan is a stunning singer-songwriter, the lady with the voice to die for.” — At The Barrier “…it really is about time she was reverently spoken about in the same Celtic folk pantheon as Mary Black, Lisa Hannigan and Eleanor McEvoy.” — Folking.com “…the audience very quickly becomes a group of friends round for a chat, and a passion for her music that flows out in waves. We live the songs with her and it’s very easy to relate them to people and situations we know.” — Fatea Links: Website: www.lindamoylan.co.uk Support from Louise Hatch accompanied by...

NINE BELOW ZERO ACOUSTIC DUO - Dennis Greaves & Mark Feltham - Live at Mycenae House

Mycenae House · London

One of the UK's finest rhythm & blues bands, Nine Below Zero, formed in 1979. In 1980 they signed to A&M Records and released the seminal "Live at the Marquee" album. By the end of that year they had moved from selling out the Marquee to selling out the Hammersmith Odeon. Forty years down the line, NIne Below Zero still tour regularly throughout Europe and the UK, as a four-piece band, playing festivals and concert halls, thrilling audiences with their fiery brand of R&B. Now, founding members, Dennis Greaves, the band’s charismatic singer and guitarist and harmonica-virtuoso Mark Feltham, have gone back to their blues roots and are performing a series of intimate, acoustic concerts as a duo. Two masters of their instruments and two voices blend to stunning effect., covering songs by blues legends such as Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, Jimmy Reed, Slim Harpo and Leadbelly, they also play unplugged versions of well known Nine Below Zero material.

Hil St Soul

Boisdale of Canary Wharf · London

“A beguiling set of pipes - a whiff of Whitney here, a scoop of Chaka there”The Boston Globe Hil St Soul comes to Boisdale with original British soul, neo-soul warmth and a catalogue that has travelled well beyond the UK circuit. Led by Zambia-born, London-raised singer-songwriter Hilary Mwelwa, this is soul with roots in Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye, but shaped by London R&B, jazz-soul and the smooth US soul sound that embraced her early. Her debut album Soul Organic marked her out as one of the strongest UK soul voices of her generation, earning Best Newcomer recognition from Blues & Soul. She went on to appear on Later... with Jools Holland, share stages with James Brown, D’Angelo and Macy Gray, and find US radio success with her version of "For the Love of You". The live set draws from a catalogue that includes "Until You Come Back to Me", "For the Love of You", "Pieces", "Strictly a Vibe Thing" and newer material from Back in Love and Nasalifya (Thank You). Expect warm keys, a rhythm section that sits in the pocket, close backing vocals and Hilary’s lead vocal right where it should be: relaxed, soulful and never overworked.
