About this event

Green Note Presents: Jim White is on Thursday 6 May 2027 at St Pancras Old Church, London, with doors at 19:30. Tickets start at £24.20, including the booking fee.

Jim White gets around. When he’s not releasing his own critically acclaimed solo albums he splits time producing records for other songwriters, exhibiting his visual art in galleries and museums across the US and Europe and publishing award winning fiction. White (born Mike Pratt) has released seven eclectic, totally uncategorizable albums plus another six even stranger side projects. Known for his intricately layered, highly cinematic production values, numerous songs from White’s back catalog have appeared both in film and television. His Primus-esque Word-Mule was featured in the pivotal Heisenger episode of Breaking Bad, and more recently his song Static on the Radio, a duet with Aimee Mann, landed in the closing credits of the feature film El Camino. UK fans may recognize White as the narrator and defacto tour guide for the award winning BBC documentary, Searching for the Wrong Eyed Jesus, a road movie set in the rural South, which the LA Times described as “Decidedly strange, delightfully demented.” Prior to becoming a musician White led an aimless, diverse life, working countless menial labor jobs: dishwasher, landscaper, lifeguard, cook, surfboard laminator, road bu...

Ed Blunt - Album Launch Show

St Pancras Old Church · London

Hailed by Rolling Stone for his “astonishing mastery of his craft,” Ed Blunt is a multi-instrumentalist storyteller whose songs can make you laugh one moment and gently break your heart the next. Drawing comparisons to James Taylor, Paul Simon and The Divine Comedy, Ed blends folk, jazz and roots with a dry, self-deprecating wit and a gift for turning everyday moments into quietly profound songs. His work has received BBC radio support and critical praise for its lyrical depth and melodic craft. An accomplished live performer, Ed has toured extensively across the UK and Europe, appearing at festivals including Black Deer, FolkEast and Manchester Folk Festival, and supporting acclaimed artists such as David Ford, Reg Meuross and Annie Dressner. His live shows are intimate, story-led evenings full of humour, honesty and musicianship — the kind of night that feels like catching up with an old friend. Described by Chris Difford of Squeeze as “a quiet genius,” Ed’s unguarded warmth and storytelling have earned him a devoted following, leaving a lasting mark on the hearts of his listeners.

Richard Shindell

St Pancras Old Church · London

***NB: This show is mixed seating and standing. Seating is limited and available on a first come first served basis.*** Richard Shindell lives as both an immigrant and emigrant, crossing thresholds, that informs his illumination of the human experience through narrative song. Shindell has inhabited a Zen Buddhist monastery, busked in the streets of Paris, opened for Joan Baez (who covered several of his songs), and collaborated with Grammy-winner Larry Campbell (Bob Dylan, Levon Helm, Elvis Costello). Originally from New York, now living in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Shindell is a writer whose songs paint pictures, tell stories, juxtapose ideas and images, inhabit characters, vividly evoking entire worlds along the way and expanding our sense of just what it is a song may be. Meticulously recorded over three years in New York and Buenos Aires, his most recent release, Careless, offered an ambitious, luxurious, full-length statement. Shindell immersed himself in the studio, allowing the time and latitude to explore, experiment, take risks—to play—as each of these eleven songs was given form and substance. While his signature acoustic guitar style is used to good effect, Careless a...
