Cabbage Patch Pub, Twickenham

About this event

Haves & Haves Album Launch is on Sunday 16 May 2027 at Cabbage Patch Pub, Twickenham, with doors at 19:45. Tickets start at £11, including the booking fee.

We are delighted to host Haves & Haves for what promises to be a special night launching their album, Thursday's Child. The evening will feature performances from the album as well as readings from the Janis Haves' new book, The Bus at the End of the World. Janis and Geoff Haves are a husband and wife team playing and singing lyric-driven, story-powered acoustic folk/Americana. They travel and tell their stories from their home on wheels, Big Gus the Bus, their ex-17-seater minibus. Geoff is a long-term professional session guitarist and producer, and the couple have recorded three albums together. Along the way, on the road, they've joined Albert Lee and Hogans Heroes as support on two UK tours as well gig supports for Mary Gauthier, Will Kimborough, Rod Picott, Clive Gregson and their good friend Grammy award winning artist Bob Cheevers. Janis has also toured with "Songwriters in the Round" alongside Peter Bruntnell and folk legend Michael Chapman.

Liz Simcock

Cabbage Patch Pub · Twickenham

Liz Simcock has been called one of the country’s finest female singer songwriters. Her songs – often autobiographical and highly personal – are immediately accessible to audiences and injected with poetry, emotion and splashes of humour. In 1999, she featured on the Playpen Album of New Acoustic Music alongside Eliza Carthy, Billy Bragg, Eddi Reader and Kathryn Williams. Since then, she has trodden an independent path, gaining a growing reputation as a performer and songwriter. Liz counts Richard Thompson, Clive Gregson, Boo Hewerdine and Joni Mitchell amongst her songwriting influences. Liz has made five albums. Friday Night Train Home, released in 2013, featured the virtuoso backing of Dave Ellis and Boo Howard. In 2015 and 2017, Liz toured with Clive Gregson performing songs from the Gregson & Collister back catalogue and promoting an album of brand new Gregson songs. As always though, Liz’s main focus is on her own songwriting and live performances. 2020 brought the release of her fifth album, Winter Hill, a pared down acoustic album featuring one voice, one guitar and a handful of beautifully crafted and previously unreleased songs. John & Di Cullen have been a part of...
