The Definitive Rat Pack with Nancy Sinatra

Boisdale of Canary Wharf · London

Table reservations from 6pm | Live Music: 8.30pm “Each performer is a master of his craft...”London’s Magic FM The Definitive Rat Pack returns to Boisdale with Stephen Triffitt as Frank Sinatra, Mark Adams as Dean Martin and Darren Charles as Sammy Davis Jr, joined by Hannah Lindsey as Nancy Sinatra. This is the Rat Pack done by performers who have lived with the material for years, not a loose swing set in dinner jackets. Triffitt and Adams starred in the West End’s The Rat Pack: Live from Las Vegas, and Darren Charles brings the Sammy Davis Jr sharpness: rhythm, pace, humour and that switch from charm to attack when the song needs it. Hannah Lindsey adds the Nancy Sinatra edge, taking the night from classic Vegas swing into 60s pop cool with "Bang Bang", "These Boots Are Made for Walkin’" and "Somethin’ Stupid". That contrast matters: Sinatra’s late-night phrasing, Dean’s relaxed swing, Sammy’s snap and Nancy’s cool, clipped delivery all sit in different corners of the same room. Expect "Fly Me to the Moon", "That’s Amore", "Mr Bojangles", "Bang Bang" and "Somethin’ Stupid", with a live band keeping the pace tight and the arrangements properly dressed. Boi...

Aretha Franklin by Vanessa Haynes of Incognito

Boisdale of Canary Wharf · London

Table reservations from 6pm | Live Music: 8.30pm “Haynes’ voice is nothing short of mesmerising. A standout talent in her own right.” - UK Soul Review “A soulful powerhouse.” - Evening Standard Aretha Franklin is dangerous territory for any singer. The songs demand more than a big voice, they need gospel instinct, soul phrasing and the confidence to hold back before letting the room have it. Vanessa Haynes has that equipment. Best known as a long-time lead vocalist with Incognito, Haynes brings serious soul credentials to the stage. Her career includes work with Van Morrison, Chaka Khan, Billy Ocean, Lulu, Anastacia, Leon Ware, Mario Biondi and Dave Stewart, alongside more than 14 years touring internationally with one of Britain’s most respected jazz-funk bands. Backed by a full live band, she takes on Aretha’s great songbook with the respect and nerve it deserves. Expect "Respect", "(You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman", "I Say a Little Prayer", "Chain of Fools", "Think" and "Day Dreaming", songs built on gospel roots, deep soul and absolute emotional command. This is a proper singer meeting proper material, with enough grit, control and feeling to make the tribu...

Their fusion of African rhythms, Caribbean grooves, funk, jazz, rock, Latin and highlife shaped the early language of what later became known as world music. Their catalogue continues to resonate across generations, with Sunshine Day, Welcome Home and Music for Gong Gong remaining staples on global stages. Osibisa’s legacy runs deep, cited by artists from Santana and Stevie Wonder to Al Green, Johnny Nash and Bob Marley. New Roots Presents: Paul Mosley, Jack Harris, & very special guest Hannah White

Green Note · London

PAUL MOSLEY is an award winning composer/singer/songwriter who loves a concept. Combining charmingly off kilter art-rock sensibilities with hook laden choruses, his hugely enjoyable live shows have taken his ever rotating' Red Meat Orchestra' everywhere from Glastonbury to Green Man via the brothels of Amsterdam and the most remote wilds of Iceland. His album ‘The Butcher’ is an epic folk opera, a ghost story 2 years in the making, told over 20 songs by 20+ musicians - friends made on Mosley’s various composing projects including Josienne Clarke, Jamie Lawson, Mediaeval Baebe Esther Dee, long time collaborator harpist Tom Moth (Florence And The Machine), and musicians from the bands of Feist, Benjamin Clementine, Madness, Patrick Wolf and Neko Case. 'What a voice' Jools Holland 'This is great modern folk writing' **** R2 Magazine JACK HARRIS's songs take a compassionate look at things both common and uncommon, and see them differently. They are literate, curious, often in character, and always intriguing.
