Malice in The Underground

The Underground · Bournemouth

MALICE IN THE UNDERGROUND Alice’s Wicked Tea Party is crawling out from beneath the Rabbit Hole and heading into the darker end of the night. Introducing Malice In The Underground — a new bi-monthly club night for the beautifully broken, the night creatures, the misfits and anyone who has ever looked at normality and thought, “Nah, fuck that.” 24 October we kick things off at: The Underground, Boscombe, Bournemouth Leading the first descent into the madness: BLACK BORDELLOS SPECIAL GUEST — TBA And trust me… you’ll want to wait for this one. Then the live wires get pulled from the wall and the DJs take over, hammering out Alt Rock, Post-Punk, Goth, Darkwave, Industrial Rock and all manner of beautifully fucked-up noise until the sensible people have gone home. Dress to impress. Dress to express. Dress like you finally stopped pretending to be normal. Come down the stairs. Leave the daylight behind. Let the freak flag fly. Because sometimes the safest place to be is somewhere wonderfully fucking wrong. MALICE IN THE UNDERGROUND 24 OCTOBER — THE UNDERGROUND, BOSCOMBE, BOURNEMOUTH The Rabbit Hole just got darker

Bomo Folk Club Presents The Lost Trades

The Underground · Bournemouth

The Lost Trades are a Folk/Americana Trio, based in the West Country, with a cool Laurel Canyon vibe. With a sound that is reminiscent of the California folk scene of the late 60s/early 70s, their three part harmonies have been described as "flawless", "spine tingling" and "magical". After a global pandemic cut short their first tour after just a single sold out gig, the band retreated to their songwriting rooms to work on their debut album, "The Bird, The Book & The Barrel". The album was released in June 2021 and was well received, spending 8 months in the Official UK Folk Albums Chart. The follow up, "Petrichor" was released in March 2023, and immediately followed suit, entering the chart at #31. A live performance involves easy interchanging of instruments, including guitar, ukulele, bass and percussion at different points. There's always a fun intimacy to the show, with the group engaging in comfortable repartee with each other and the audience like a group of old friends.

FIND JOY

West Hampstead Arts Club · London

find-joy are an alternative indie band from North County Dublin. The group released their latest single ‘Departed’ off their sophomore EP earlier this month. The track was produced by the group’s guitarist Mark Allidine and was recorded over a number of sessions in various home studios. ‘Departed’ showcases a strong bass groove and synth melodies from Oscar Kelly which combine with the drums to produce a driving rhythmic feel. The chorus features an explosion of width and a rather catchy vocal hook from singers Tadhg Kelly and Colleen Conlon. The track is noticeably different from Peptides, the first single from the EP while still maintaining many familiar find-joy elements. “Departed is a song about infatuation. The all encompassing feeling of the start of a romantic interest. It’s a certain kind of feeling that I feel is as relatable as it is bitter sweet” says Tadhg about the new single. ‘Departed’ was mastered by Tom Woodhead in his studio Hippocratic, in West Yorkshire. Tom has worked notably with Status Quo, English Teacher and Gerry Cinnamon to name a few. Known for their energetic live shows, find-joy have performed twice at Whelan’s Ones to Watch, Gol...
