About this event

Smokin Roses presents: Folk n' Roses ft: South of Polaris, Charlie Slater and David Mansfield is on Friday 30 October 2026 at Smokin' Roses Vintage, Saffron Walden, with doors at 19:30. Tickets start at £6.60, including the booking fee.

October's edition of Folk n' Roses brings together two contrasting styles, which should make for an exciting live music night in Saffron Walden. South of Polaris South of Polaris are an alt folk duo from near Cambridge, blending strings and guitar to produce a truly special sound, which is both warm and captivating. They have played at many of the recent summer festivals, including Cambridge Folk Festival and Bury Folk Festival. This will be a real treat for fans of folk music. Charlie Slater Charlie Slater is a local singer-songwriter with an incredibly powerful presence and delivery. With blues, country and folk influences, Charlie's fast-picking guitar style lends itself to country, but its intensity is firmly rock n roll! Expect some Elvis and Jonny Cash covers thrown in for good measure. David Mansfield David recently played at our Smokin Roses Open Mic at Zafferano Lounge and also played a stellar set for us at the shop back in April. A country- and folk-influenced songwriter, his powerful vocals and harmonica really hit the mark live. Our full range of vinyl, vintage clothing and band merch will be on sale all night and the bar will be fully stocked! Doors 7.30pm, Music star...

DJ Nights: Mi-Soul Radio Fridays

Boisdale of Canary Wharf · London

Dinner & Table Reservations from 5pm. DJs from 7pm-2am Boisdale has Jools Holland as Patron of Music, a live programme that runs seven nights a week and a NEXO sound system installed because the music demands it. Mi-Soul Radio has Gordon Mac MBE, Kiss FM in its DNA and thirty years of soul, house and R&B running through everything it does. On Friday nights the two come together on the first floor and the result is exactly what you would hope for. The selectors rotate through the Mi-Soul roster each week, which keeps the sets fresh without ever dropping the standard. Deep soulful house one Friday, classic R&B the next, but always played by someone who has a genuine relationship with the music rather than a playlist and a laptop. Start on the heated terrace with a cocktail overlooking Cabot Square, move inside when the night builds and let the sound system do the rest. First Floor Bar & Heated Garden Terrace Nestled in Cabot Square and overlooking the fountain with the Canary Wharf skyline beyond, the first floor bar and heated garden terrace is a destination in its own right. Fine wines, premium spirits and expertly crafted cocktails, with a selection that covers everything from rar...
