The Velvet Thunders - to the rescue, pants over tights, come tgecever super heroic VTs, replacing the flaked Ocean Colour Scene tribute with The Beatles in support! Ace! Our all round very favourite pan genre rocknroll party band. Flaming Pie - as part of a special “Beatles in London” weekend, following the footsteps of the Fab Four around the capital, eager fans will be travelling with this red hot Swiss Beatles tribute band, Flaming Pie – a passionate and authentic three-piece act that captures the spirit and energy of the Beatles’ live years. The band has already performed at iconic venues such as The Indra Club + The Kaiserkeller in Hamburg, as well as at the International Beatleweek in Liverpool. Julia Baird, John Lennon’s half-sister, praised the band after one of their shows, saying: “John would have absolutely loved this band”… (Sorry the Ocean Colour Scene band have flaked out) DJ Fuzz Duprey til late

Nerorgasmo Vs Dread Messiah!

Dublin Castle · London

Nerorgasmo - excellent Italian hardcore band from Torino formed by Luca "Abort" and Simone (ex Blue Vomit!) originally active between 1984 and 1987. In 1993 Nerorgasmo played a reunion show and have revisited their momentous music often enough to never fade away from the hearts of minds of their Italian fans, but this is the first time they’ve played on British soil. This, their first ever London performance is set fair to be a legendary event in the alt/punk/thrash annals… Especially as they’ll be joined on this bill by equally legendary London thrash monsters Dread Messiah, a band that play with such joyfully confrontational intensity they captivate any audience any time. Not to be missed then. Guru Honey Badger - Rachel Darq’s esteemed high drama sex and death gothic punk rock machine is now fully manned, or womaned more accurately, and is delivering the goods somewhere between the Banshees, Nina Hagan and an X rated Kate Bush. New single, the provocatively titled ‘Gold Fanny’ is a belter.

Headcase

Dublin Castle · London

Headcase - possibly named with the whacky rocknroll antics of the highly entertaining singer in mind, or perhaps because they’re packed full of nutritious riffs, this band bridge Britpop, punk and alt rock and give an ace party performance. Irene - fabulous Freach alt-rock two-piece featuring slowburning tunes in the vein of Radiohead, also shades of Dinosaur Jr and Sonic Youth, et bien marche. Mechanicals - recently released debut single ‘Sweet Lover’ which was played on Meridian FM /Deal Radio, and more songs due to be released soon! “Great Rock Band! Really solid! Really good singer!" (Rough Edges) The Januarys - slippery, slinky funk with groovy rock and blues overtones and lots of syncopated pizzazz. A collective keeping it cool. And what’s more chilled than Januarys? Plus of course DJ Sue til 2am

DJ Nights: Mi-Soul Radio Fridays

Boisdale of Canary Wharf · London

Dinner & Table Reservations from 5pm. DJs from 7pm-2am Boisdale has Jools Holland as Patron of Music, a live programme that runs seven nights a week and a NEXO sound system installed because the music demands it. Mi-Soul Radio has Gordon Mac MBE, Kiss FM in its DNA and thirty years of soul, house and R&B running through everything it does. On Friday nights the two come together on the first floor and the result is exactly what you would hope for. The selectors rotate through the Mi-Soul roster each week, which keeps the sets fresh without ever dropping the standard. Deep soulful house one Friday, classic R&B the next, but always played by someone who has a genuine relationship with the music rather than a playlist and a laptop. Start on the heated terrace with a cocktail overlooking Cabot Square, move inside when the night builds and let the sound system do the rest. First Floor Bar & Heated Garden Terrace Nestled in Cabot Square and overlooking the fountain with the Canary Wharf skyline beyond, the first floor bar and heated garden terrace is a destination in its own right. Fine wines, premium spirits and expertly crafted cocktails, with a selection that covers everything from rar...
