Bim Skala Bim

Dublin Castle · London

Bim Skala Bim formed in Boston, MA as a Ska Rock band that was influenced by the bands in England’s 2Tone movement, as well as the Clash, UB40 and Bob Marley. Bim’s infectious Boston Blue Beat sound led them to be one of the premier bands kick-starting the Third Wave of Ska in the 1980s. More bands quickly followed their example resulting in a lively scene in Boston and much of the United States. Over the years the band has incorporated secret-agent themes and versioned songs by classic rock acts like Cream, Pink Floyd and Neil Young into their repertoire. And were as likely to dabble in calypso or New Orleans music as ska and reggae! Excellent to welcome these daddies of American Ska to The Dublin Castle tonight. A fab party assured! Rebelation - Rebelation, are an internationally renowned reggae ska band, receiving regular airplay across all continents. Fronted by both male and female vocalists, their sound is steeped in the rich influences of 1960s Jamaican Ska, Rocksteady, and 1970s Roots, with elements of Soul and Gospel woven throughout, tackling social and political themes while promoting a message of positivity, inclusivity and hope. Woking Calling! The Music of The Clash and The Jam

Dublin Castle · London

Woking Calling play the Songs of The Clash and the Jam - The Jam and the Clash! Made up musicians who've played for the UK Subs, Chords UK, Vodka Tourists, Chelsea, and Bruce Foxtons Solo band, and having seen both bands live many times, WC play with a passion and care, that we hope you'll appreciate. Not a tribute to either, but most definitely a lover of both, playing a song from each band in a chronological order, with the classics held back to the end. This allows WC to play some of the favourite album tracks, alongside the singles. Think Mr Clean and Safe European Home, then Little Boy Soldiers and Career Opportunities, leaving the hits to the end of the 2nd set. We hope to see you at this amazing venue, always a great fit! From the fabulous folk who give us Punky Reggae Party and Clash N Sleazy. DJ Tony Bugbear - We Got Killers is your designated dancefloor frenzy from 11pm til 2am.

Sunday Jazz Lunch | Frank Sinatra

Boisdale of Canary Wharf · London

“Stephen Triffitt is the best. The greatest. Because he captures the soul of my Father.” — Frank Sinatra Jr. Some performers study Sinatra. Stephen Triffitt inhabits him. Direct from Las Vegas, he brings a show built on timing, phrasing and the quiet confidence that defined Sinatra at his peak. From "My Way" and "New York, New York" to "I’ve Got You Under My Skin" and "That’s Life", the set moves through songs that were written to be lived in, not just sung. Backed by a superb live band, Triffitt delivers them with control and ease, letting the arrangements breathe while keeping that unmistakable swing intact. His credentials are not decorative. Triffitt starred as Sinatra in the original West End production of The Rat Pack Live and has sold out the London Palladium, building a reputation as one of the most respected interpreters of this music anywhere. This is Sinatra as it works best, up close, well played and without excess. Alongside the performance, guests can enjoy Boisdale’s two-course Sunday lunch, including the 18-hour slow-roasted dry-aged rib of Scottish beef, goose fat roast potatoes and classic sides, with vegetarian options also available. THE GIFT and THE ROUND WINDOW

The Camden Club · London

THE GIFT are regarded by some as ‘the best kept secret’ in progressive and art rock. Back in the early noughties their first album ‘Awake & Dreaming’ impressed those in the know with its heady mixture of ‘70s style and contemporary soundscapes. Then there was silence...until the band reformed and released 2014’s “Land of Shadows”, an ambitious song suite packed with strong melodies and multi-layered instrumental workouts. In 2016 The Gift released their 3rd album, ‘Why The Sea Is Salt’, which Prog magazine described as a ‘masterpiece’. It fused symphonic, long form suites with tasteful shorter songs, and featured luminaries Steve Hackett and Anthony Phillips as guest musicians. In 2019 The Gift released their 4th album ‘Antenna’, which was even harder hitting than before whilst still retaining their signature sound. Then the pandemic brought silence, as well as lineup changes. But it didn’t stop the songs. For the last few years The Gift has been busy creating and recording their 5th album ‘Seven Seasons’. Inspired by Shakespeare’s ode to our mortal experience, it explores the stages of life from birth until the end of days. Like the human condit...

Matinée Show: Jaimee Harris

Green Note · London

Jaimee Harris’s sophomore effort Boomerang Town marks a bold step forward for this country-folk-leaning singer-songwriter. It is an arresting, ambitious song-cycle that explores the generational arc of family, the stranglehold of addiction, and the fragile ties that bind us together as Americans. Harris began cultivating Boomerang Town in 2016, a time of great loss for many in the Americana community, with the songwriter losing several musicians close to her. A shift in the nation’s political landscape had ushered in a new level of cultural polarization and for someone who grew up in a small town outside of Waco, Texas, Harris believed the values instilled by her parents were not entirely in line with how many were viewing, and vilifying, Christians. As a person in recovery, Harris has had to re-evaluate her own connection to faith and find strength in a higher power. It was from the intersection of these social, personal, and political currents that the album was born. While themes of addiction and grief permeate sections of the record, it echoes hope in the face of the darkness. Out February 17th, Boomerang Town understands that love and grief are two sides of the same coin.
