Dallahan

Spring Bank Arts Centre · New Mills

Forged out of the traditional music scenes of Scotland and Ireland—yet influenced by the sounds of the Balkans, North America, and far beyond—Dallahan have spent over a decade guiding audiences through a musical world tour of their own making. Their dazzling live show, marked by restless creativity and stunning virtuosity, has come to be defined by its refusal to sit still. Guitarist and singer Jack Badcock, banjo player Ciaran Ryan, accordionist Andrew Waite, and fiddler Benedict Morris form the band that has evolved continuously while somehow remaining rooted in the traditions that first brought them together. Along the way, Dallahan have brought their music to 25 countries, earned five nominations for Folk Band of the Year (2016, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2025), two shortlists for Album of the Year (2014, 2016), an Emerging Excellence Award (2014) and won Instrumental Track of the Year (2016). Now, with well over a decade together, Dallahan stand as a veteran touring outfit whose sound has matured without ever losing its exploratory spark. Their worldwide cult following—built slowly, show by show, across several continents—reflects a band that has grown into its own identity whi...

The Carrivick Sisters

Spring Bank Arts Centre · New Mills

One thing that is always evident at a Carrivick Sisters performance is their joy in playing together, in singing in close harmony and in delighting an audience. Twin sisters Charlotte and Laura Carrivick have grown up playing music together, and at a live show the stage becomes an extension of their kitchen; welcoming you into a warm, musical embrace while cooking up delicious melodies and tasty instrumentals. The sisters draw inspiration from their passion for traditional American old time and bluegrass music, English folklore and the wide variety of instruments they play: guitars, mandolin, fiddle, banjo and dobro. Performing professionally together since 2006, the Carrivicks have toured internationally, picking up fans and stories along the road and now have seven albums under their belts. Aside from playing as a duo, Laura and Charlotte have been involved in many other bands and projects through the years, most recently with the twice IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) Award nominated, Island Recording artists, Midnight Skyracer. “A superbly talented pair o’ lasses” Mike Harding, BBC Radio 2 “ …their already formidable multi-instrumental skills and songw...
