A brand-new trio formed by three seasoned session musicians, this collaboration between Archie Moss, Toby Shaer, and Jack Warnock was born out of a shared love for traditional music from the UK, Ireland, and mainland Europe. Toby Shaer (fiddle, flute, whistles, cittern) is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer from the southeast of England. Over the past ten years, he has toured extensively across Europe, Australia, and China with revered artists such as Cara Dillon, McCusker, McGoldrick, Doyle, and, alongside Archie Moss, with Sam Kelly & the Lost Boys. Jack Warnock (guitar, vocals) hails from Co. Derry in Ireland. An award-winning guitarist and singer, he is also an avid Gaeilgeoir (Irish speaker), performing songs in both Irish and English. Terry Hiscock + Tim Mellor - LIVE IN CAMBRIDGE

NCI Club · Cambridge

When he’s not touring with folk-rockers Hunter Muskett, Terry performs acoustic songs from the band’s repertoire both old and new and is now a sought-after musician on the circuit in his own right. Having played up and down the land in countless clubs and festivals, he has accumulated a wealth of stories and anecdotes to delight his audiences yet it is the performances of Terry’s own songs which stay long in the memory. Often accompanied by Rog Trevitt from Hunter Muskett on guitar and mandolin, these two evoke both the golden age of folk music in the late ‘60s while performing songs relevant to today. Tim Mellor is a skilled Northumbrian piper, singer and guitarist. His repertoire of songs and tunes breathes new life into traditional music from the UK and beyond. As a founding member of the Black Fen Folk Club, it's a real treat to hear Tim for an extended set for the first time in a number of years. Olivia Trummer

Divinity School Lecture Theatre · Cambridge

Pianist, singer and composer Olivia Trummer brings her singular artistry, described by Jazzwise as “a joy: eclectic, illuminating and uplifting”, to Cambridge Jazz Festival in an intimate concert of originals, jazz and popular song refreshed with classical allusions and flowing style. Classically-trained, Olivia Trummer impresses equally as a virtuosic pianist, singer, composer and improviser. Her exceptional talent and musical approach have led her to sharing the stage with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Eric Clapton and Bobby McFerrin, performing at festivals like Montreux and Umbria Jazz and at London's Ronnie Scotts. This concert she performs from her solo album "Like Water“, recorded in New York by Russ Titelman (who has worked with many major artists including the Beach Boys, Chaka Kahn and George Harrison), offering songs in English, Italian and German that flow naturally from a classical prelude to a deconstructed jazz standard. Beethoven and Bach blend seamlessless with Stevie Wonder, Sting and Jerome Kern. Olivia's own songs are touching, uplifting and daring, and her scat singing, in perfect unity with the piano, has been compared to George Benson and his guitar. "A lot of jazz...

Sunday Jazz Lunch | Frank Sinatra

Boisdale of Canary Wharf · London

“Stephen Triffitt is the best. The greatest. Because he captures the soul of my Father.” — Frank Sinatra Jr. Some performers study Sinatra. Stephen Triffitt inhabits him. Direct from Las Vegas, he brings a show built on timing, phrasing and the quiet confidence that defined Sinatra at his peak. From "My Way" and "New York, New York" to "I’ve Got You Under My Skin" and "That’s Life", the set moves through songs that were written to be lived in, not just sung. Backed by a superb live band, Triffitt delivers them with control and ease, letting the arrangements breathe while keeping that unmistakable swing intact. His credentials are not decorative. Triffitt starred as Sinatra in the original West End production of The Rat Pack Live and has sold out the London Palladium, building a reputation as one of the most respected interpreters of this music anywhere. This is Sinatra as it works best, up close, well played and without excess. Alongside the performance, guests can enjoy Boisdale’s two-course Sunday lunch, including the 18-hour slow-roasted dry-aged rib of Scottish beef, goose fat roast potatoes and classic sides, with vegetarian options also available. BOISDALE OF CANA...
