Join us in The Fae Folkrooms for an evening of music, poetry and connection, with performances from local artists and invited special guests. The Fae Folkrooms celebrates the underground, the otherworldly, the alternative, the queer and the extraordinary. This month’s special guest is Tóchar, a Glasgow-based fiddle and guitar duo offering thoughtful interpretations of traditional and contemporary Celtic material. Fran Barrett and Kai Dudley, who met on London’s vibrant session scene, stage performances marked by an intimate musical dialogue - with guitar and fiddle in lively conversation as equals. With a repertoire that moves freely from traditional tunes and songs to original compositions, Tóchar bring warmth, playful rapport, and a deep respect for the tradition to the stage. Regular hosts of inclusive, queer-fronted folk sessions in London and Glasgow, they thrive in both intimate acoustic settings and on festival stages alike. Their debut EP Causeway was released in April 2026. Note: There are different ticket prices available, select whichever option you can afford! On the door tickets are at the flat rate of £16. Doors open 7pm, performances start 7.30pm. The venue is...

The Fae Folkrooms : Craven

The Geldart · Cambridge

Join us in The Fae Folkrooms for an evening of music, poetry and connection, with performances from local artists and invited special guests. The Fae Folkrooms celebrates the underground, the otherworldly, the alternative, the queer and the extraordinary. This month’s special guest is Craven, a part English, part Welsh, dark folk trio based in the South West. Their music is at once grinding and symphonic, but also delicate and ethereal. Their sound draws far and wide from punk, electronic music, and film music as well as traditional music from both Europe and the wider world. The trio takes traditional music and upends it, using word-painting to create soundworlds for age-old stories. From songs exploring transness, queerness, yearning and bitterness, to white-hot rage against injustice, Craven make a beautiful Frankenstein's Monster of British folk music. From spit and sawdust DIY venues to the home of English Folk - Cecil Sharp House, Craven’s performances leave you speechless and tearful, engrossing audiences from many genres and backgrounds. Their music is an exploration into the ideas and opportunities of what is possible for folk music. Craven comprises Will Bremner (Acco...

The Fae Folkrooms : Tightrope Moon

The Geldart · Cambridge

Join us in The Fae Folkrooms for an evening of music, poetry and connection, with performances from local artists and invited special guests. The Fae Folkrooms celebrates the underground, the otherworldly, the alternative, the queer and the extraordinary. This month’s special guest is instrumental folk duo Tightrope Moon, made up of Seth Bye (fiddle) and Cori Smith (viola). Tightrope Moon cast a silver web over their audiences as strings, vocals and electronics entwine in celestial sounds and hypnotic melodies. From gronky re-imaginings of English, Swedish and American tunes to delicate compositions and ethereal improvisations, their spiraling melodies feel like secrets whispered in the dark. The duo’s electrifying groove-based tunes create a sound that is otherworldly, yet deeply rooted in tradition. Their songs spin out stories old and new, as haunting vocal harmonies floating over delicate pizzicato latticework. Tales of the forest merge with daydreams in the big city as they infuse acoustic instruments with eerie experimental electronics. For Tightrope Moon, making music is an intimate alchemy - carefully crafting ‘other worlds’ and sharing them with audiences across th...

The Fae Folkrooms : Anna Anise

The Geldart · Cambridge

Join us in The Fae Folkrooms for an evening of music, poetry and connection, with performances from local artists and invited special guests. The Fae Folkrooms celebrates the underground, the otherworldly, the alternative, the queer and the extraordinary. This month’s special guest is singer-songwriter Anna Anise. Anna is a radiant voice in modern folk, blending melodic hooks, rich vocals, and full-bodied guitar tunings with the heritage of the Cornish language to create something truly captivating. Rooted in her Cornish identity, her latest work brings a rhythmic, lament-tinged optimism to the evolving sound of Kernewek in song. As a performer, Anna has played all over the UK, from venues such as Green Note in London and Cobalt Studios in Newcastle to festivals like Green Man and Between the Trees. In 2024, she co-headlined a spring tour with violinist and songwriter boci, and completed an 18-date support tour with the folk trio Hands of the Heron. After a successful crowdfunding campaign in 2025, Anna and her supporters raised the funds to record her debut bilingual album, Aneth (meaning ‘marvel’ or ‘wonder’ in Cornish) set for release late 2026.
